Our Vision
Statement of Faith
As a non-denominational, Christian nonprofit organization, we are committed to proclaiming the truth of God’s Word. While there is certainly a diversity of views on some secondary and tertiary issues, the entire Hope team, including the Board of Directors, executive leadership and clinical staff, affirms the following Statement of Faith, which forms the bedrock for our Mission, Vision and Values:
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in a union of three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that God created Adam and Eve in His image, but they sinned when tempted by Satan. In union with Adam, human beings are sinners by nature and by choice, alienated from God, and under His wrath. Only through God’s saving work in Jesus Christ can we be rescued, reconciled and renewed.
We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, fully God and fully man, one Person in two natures. Jesus—Israel’s promised Messiah—was conceived through the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified, arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father as our High Priest and Advocate.
We believe that Jesus Christ, as our representative and substitute, shed His blood on the cross as the perfect, all-sufficient sacrifice for our sin. His atoning death and victorious resurrection constitute the only basis for our salvation.
We believe that for the salvation of a lost and sinful person, which is by grace and not a result of works, regeneration by the Holy Spirit and faith in Christ are essential.
We believe that faith in Christ is an abandonment of any attempt to satisfy God’s justice through our own righteousness; it is a whole-hearted dependence upon Christ for righteousness. Jesus took our sinful record upon Himself and received God’s just judgment for our sin. His resurrection demonstrates that He was crucified for us, not for any sin in Him. He is now glorified in body, and promises the same resurrection and eternal glory to all who through faith are united to Him in His death, burial, and resurrection.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life and to witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ through His body, the Church, whose work it is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever by loving Him with our whole heart, mind, soul, and strength and loving our neighbors as ourselves.
Our Values
Gospel Motivation
Recognizing that God’s unique means of reconciliation, healing, and transformation through Christ Jesus is a gift that cannot be earned, we will love others because God has first loved us. (Ephesians 2:4, 8-9; 1 John 4:19)
Prayer
Because God is the great physician, and without God our efforts are in vain, we will approach all we do in prayer from a heart of faith. Because we want each patient to know the Lord as healer in every dimension of their lives we will make ourselves available to pray with them whenever they request. (Revelation 21:3-6)
Excellence
Because every opportunity to serve others is an opportunity for God’s glory, we will practice the highest standards of clinical excellence, focus on each individual patient, communicate honestly, and offer the best of ourselves each day to our patients, co- workers, and our community. (Ephesians 2:10; 1 Corinthians 10:31)
Stewardship
Because every resource comes from God we will seek to make the best use of our facilities, talents, equipment, relationships, knowledge, and all other resources to best serve the greatest number of patients. (2 Corinthians 5:18-19, 9:6-15)
Patience
Because healing happens in God’s time for His glory, we will be patient in the work that God is doing in us, in others, and in our community (Galatians 5:22-23; 2 Peter 3:9)
Thankfulness
Because every good gift comes from God we will demonstrate thankfulness for those we serve, for the blessings in this life, for God’s faithfulness through hardships, and for the promise that all things are being made new. (Psalm 107:1; Ephesians 5:20; 1 Thessalonians 5:18)
Humility
Because God is the Maker and Redeemer of the people we serve, we will approach every situation with humility, considering the needs of others before our own, modeling the humility of Christ. (Philippians 2:3-11)
Service
Because we are not in the health care sector as a means of serving ourselves for personal gain, but rather because we view this vocation as a God-given opportunity to serve others for the sake of the gospel, we will serve every man, woman, and child, regardless of their economic, social, or racial status as though we are serving the Lord. (Matthew 25:31-40; Galatians 3:28)
Dignity through Relationship and Hospitality
Because all people are made in the image of God we will give each individual the highest level of dignity by offering communication in their language, maintaining welcoming facilities, intentionally listening, and by providing the highest level of personal care regardless of one’s faith. (Matthew 7:12; Romans 12:10; Philippians 2:3; 1 Peter 2:17)
Joy
Because joy is a result of God’s mercy and love for us, we will rejoice in every opportunity to serve others in the confidence that God’s power is greater than our weakness. (2 Corinthians 12:9; Philippians 4:19)
