Recuperative Care Center

Dignity for All: The Compassionate Care and Support of our Recuperative Care Center

The Recuperative Care Center (RCC) was established by the City of Las Vegas in the summer of 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The RCC was designed to serve individuals who are recovering from an acute illness/injury where the lack of acuity no longer justifies continued hospitalization. Illness/injury is generally exacerbated by an individual’s return to homelessness due to the lack of consistent access to appropriate shelter that would allow for a complete return to health and well-being. The RCC is a medical respite program that maintains 41-beds, provides medical care 24/7, safe shelter, meals/snacks, case management and other stabilization services to individuals experiencing homelessness who are too frail for the streets but are not ill enough to remain in hospital after pre/postsurgical procedures.  Our primary goal at the RCC is to stabilize patient’s medical conditions, enabling them to recover and transition back to more permanent housing and maintain access to healthcare and other supportive services needed to thrive. As vulnerable and valued members of our community, we seek to provide dignity and high quality healthcare to everyone, despite their background.
