Dr. Ethan Zimmerman served as founding chairman of the Board of Directors for Hope Christian Health Center, and continues to serve as a member of the board. He was raised in the eastern U.S. — mostly in North Carolina — in a homeschool family of five children. He received his bachelors from Asbury College (now Asbury University) and attended medical school at East Carolina University. After deciding he wanted to be a family doctor, he completed residency at St Louis University. Upon graduation, the Air Force sent him to Las Vegas in 2008 to help start a brand new family medicine residency at Nellis Air Force Base, where he still teaches and practices medicine.
In 2004 he married his college sweetheart, Ellen, and they have four boys and one girl. Ethan enjoys sports, all forms of outdoor recreation, board games, museums, playing the piano and family reunions. On weekends he can sometimes be found working on his electric train layout.
Ethan loves to help people enjoy a maximum state of health and therefore has a strong interest in health promotion and disease prevention. He sees a fundamental link between healing the body and the soul. He first became interested in Hope Christian Health Center after a mission trip to Haiti when grappling with the tremendous needs in that country. Involvement in Hope is exciting because it allows him a glimpse of what it means to serve in his own community as Jesus did — by loving through healing among those with the greatest need.
